I hereby inform you, as the exclusive agent of Barmenia Versicherung, about the processing of personal data in my agency. This is done in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), the data protection-relevant provisions of the Insurance Contract Act (VVG) and, if applicable, other laws.

Purpose and legal basis of data processing

As an insurance agency of Barmenia Versicherung, we receive various personal data from you and process it in particular for the following purposes:

• Preparatory actions and conclusion of insurance applications and offers (legal basis Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR)
• Activities during the term of the insurance relationship (participation in contract administration and fulfillment, in particular in the event of a claim/benefit as well as in the event of a contract adjustment, amendment or for the provision of comprehensive information (legal basis Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR)
• Advertising purposes (acquisition) in order to make you offers tailored to your needs (legal basis Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a, f GDPR)
• We may also receive special types of personal data from you, particularly health data. (Legal basis: Art. 9 Para. 2 lit. a) in conjunction with Art. 7 GDPR).
• Fulfillment of legal obligations (eg regulatory requirements, commercial and tax retention obligations or our duty to provide advice (legal basis Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. c GDPR)
• Ensuring building security, IT security and IT operations (legal basis Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. a, f GDPR).

Duration of storage of your data

We delete your personal data as soon as it is no longer required for the purposes mentioned above and no statutory retention periods or other periods justify longer retention. Retention periods under commercial and tax law are up to 10 years. If legal claims against our company are possible, statutory limitation periods of three or up to thirty years may still be relevant for the retention of documents.
